Dr. Kevin R. Spiker
Dr. Kevin R. Spiker is Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of Internships at Ohio University where he routinely teaches courses on political theory, political parties and elections, and the American presidency. His recent research focuses on the concepts of just war theory in Catholic thought, the military doctrine of command responsibility, asylum and sanctuary in history and law, and capital punishment in religious and political thought. His recent publications include (along with Dr. James B. Whisker): “The Just War Doctrine in Catholic Thought” (Nova, 2021), “Asylum and Sanctuary in History and Law” (Brown/Walker, 2021), “Command Responsibility: Holding Military Leaders Accountable for Their Troops” (Academica, 2020), and “The Alien Tort Claims Act” (Nova, 2019).
